    Reporting to the Vice President, Sponsorship Practice, the Account Director, Sponsorship is responsible for leading the strategic delivery of sponsorship marketing solutions and supporting clients in overall business growth out of the New York, USA office.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Client Relationship Management

    • Responsible for client relationships to ensure excellent service is being provided day-to-day
    • Advise clients by developing short and long-term sponsorship management and communication strategies
    • Generate new strategies and anticipate client integrated marketing needs
    • Take ownership for building the clients’ business
    • Ensure client projects are executed to plan, through managing the internal team, agency resources and workflow processes
    • Embody the client brand and understand the client business holistically and specifically
    • Cultivate meaningful, partnering relationships with client group
    • Articulate the client business clearly and concisely to the Lumency team

    Financial Management

    • Responsible for resource allocation, team productivity and overall workgroup billing and revenue
    • Responsible for the management, tracking and reconciliation of the workgroup budgets

    People Management

    • Support Talent to recruit, develop and retain the best talent in the experiential and sponsorship marketing industry
    • Onboard new team members and provide on-going continued learning and development
    • Support and guide team members through consistent performance management and development plan
    • Execute weekly one-on-one’s to support team members continued learning and growth
    • Responsible for the workplace health, safety and wellness of team members
    • Manage the execution of required tasks by the work group
    • Support team members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in their approach to work

    Culture Cultivation  

    • Support ongoing development of a positive agency culture
    • Act as a Lumency champion in the marketplace


    Education - Post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, or communications. 


    Experience  - 7-9 years of experience in the sponsorship marketing industry with 3+ years of people management experience (experience leading virtual team members an asset).  Agency experience (a definite asset).

    • Exposure to data and analytics as it relates to sponsorship marketing
    • Experience collaborating with sports and entertainment properties
    • Exposure to New Business Development and an interest in New Business Development

    Skills and Abilities

    • Certification / Coursework in Microsoft Office (an asset)
    • Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and motivate team members
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with clients, vendors, suppliers, and direct reports
    • Highly motivated individual with ability to delegate and utilize team members efficiently and effectively
    • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Excellent problem solving skills and high attention to detail and ability to focus
    • Ability to think strategically, notice industry trends, and anticipate problems
    • Proven ability in developing and managing projects including schedules, timelines, deliverables, costs, etc.

    Travel Requirements:  This role is based in New York, USA and requires travel in North America, approximately 15%.
